About:

She was an Air Force brat who was born and raised almost exclusively overseas, particularly in Germany, and later Japan. Her father was a fledgling MWD handler when he met her mother, a Chinese German who was working at her family's grocer. Faustine grew up speaking a mixture of English and German, along with some Mandarin picked up from her mother's side. She was decidedly unimpressed in her father's work, or the "smelly" dog he worked with on a daily basis, and closer to her mother.

She had very few friends as a child, and filled her spare time with reading, star gazing, and tinkering with technology. Faustine enjoyed not only taking electronics apart, but messing around in digital space itself. It started off as innocent hacking in the beginning; she had no interest in compromising security or invading privacy. But when bullied at school and unable to fight back fairly, she decided to strike back in ways they wouldn't expect. She was a shameless and cringe worthy script kiddie back then, but outgrew that phase.

University was a lot kinder to her than high school. She had a handful of casual friends, and an even larger circle online. Her friends offline convinced her to get out of the house and mingle, whereas the group pulled her into an assortment of MMO's and other online games. But school always came first to her; digital forensics appealed to her more than anything. She was working on her internship when the hottest game of the year went in beta. Virtual reality in an MMORPG? She signed up in a hurry.

Friends:

"Ha, friends are for nerds," is Alk's usual way of evading the question. Aside from superficial ones or acquaintances, Alkaid doesn't have any close friends. She's never felt much of a need for one, and is content to be alone. However, she does enjoy being around other people -- to an extent. It would be great if she could do everything on her own, but she needs reliable questing partners in the VRMMORPG scene. She tolerates some better than others, though she tends to treat girls better than guys.

Lovers:

She is exclusively attracted to women, but also classifies herself as demiromantic when asked. Relationships, sexual or otherwise, have appealed very little to her. Or, rather, people haven't. There are few women she has met and taken a shine to, so she would be hard-pressed to identify a "type."

Her take on relationships is simple: If it happens, it happens. If not, then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Enemies:

Enemies aren't that hard to make for her. She can come off as pushy around weaker personalities, especially if they're male. On the other hand, she does not take instruction as well, and may challenge the other until she can respect them. It makes her a less desirable team member at times.

Her jokes are mean-spirited in nature; schadenfreude is the greatest joy, after all. Half the shit she says is just for shock value, or littered with nerdy humor, historical references, and a pun or two. Oh, nicknames. She has one for everybody.
