Mixed Martial Artist. Russian-Japanese. Traveler. Tricker. Competitor. Acrobat. Loner. Traceur.
You'd never guess that the calmly reserved Zoya does anything extreme. Go figure that she's an 'extreme athlete' that competes in the not exactly traditional forms of athleticism. Getting the body to do amazing and ridiculous feats of agility, flexibility and strength? She's good at it and competes internationally in parkour and tricking. While these competitions aren't exactly on the broadcast level of soccer or basketball, it is nonetheless a legitimate way to earn cash and gain circuit renown.
... So why is she playing this game again?
If she's asked her response will probably be 'because I want to.' Not because she aims to be vague or blockade curiosity, but because it's genuinely the reason. She enjoys games. She loves the cooperative nature of MMOs and finds it a relaxing time sink in-between traveling, training and competing. Her precise, quick-wit nature often leans to her learning games quickly, but her lack of commitment generally means she quits before getting too far.
Zoya's Japan tour coincided with SAO's public release. ... It was an impulse buy.
Friends might not know they are friends. Zoya isn't the most expressive of people. Despite being sincere and earnest, she fails to communicate how important someone is or how much she cares. Which, for the record, people are, and she does. While she views most as friends, only a small percentage actually feel any sense of reciprocity. Offline, she (unbeknownst to herself) is a loner. Online, most of her 'friends' shrink from and avoid her. Those that don't usually want something from her. Given that she's habitually a great striker or tank, most 'friends' want her to fill the party slot. She's trying to get better with the whole sociability thing, though. It's just... it feels so forced.
Enemies, often construe her nonchalance and factual demeanor as arrogance, and her unintentional coldness/aloofness as haughtiness. While she might not intend to come off that way, being understood as a stuck-up, self-entitled so-and-so that others want to bring down a notch is sadly not all that rare. While painfully aware of hostile feelings, Zoya doesn't try to repair them. She also tries (and usually fails) not to make them any worse. On the flipside, Zoya's hard to upset or offend. Rivalries are more likely to develop than enemies from her prospective.
Lovers, have been more or less non-existent. Despite being twenty-five, Zoya isn't sure she's ever felt... this 'romantic love' everyone talks about. She's had girlfriends and boyfriends but... it isn't like what everyone says it ought to be. It doesn't feel any different than a friend. Offline, jokes about her being asexual are tossed around casually. Online, most assume she's actually a man so... stoicism makes sense, right? In actuality it just takes a certain sort of person to enthrall Zoya. She just hasn't met someone who has, yet, much to the chagrin of some.
Quests, Guilds and PvP; Zoya is a doer. Willing to try most things at least once, she's remarkably agreeable towards doing stuff, with quests first and foremost among the aforementioned 'doing stuff.'
Joining a guild will be inevitable for Zoya and she's likely to join whomever asks first. She's not picky and holds few expectations or preconceptions. Reminding her of teamwork will probably be necessary, but she's loyal enough that she'd stay with the guild indefinitely.
Zoya's not an innate PvPer. Unless friendships or challenges develop to cater her towards PvP combat, she will likely stay a PvEr.
