male - 20 - heterosexual - craftsman - tank about
Shoichi Nakamoto, or Farmsalot as he is known in game, is a second year student at the Tokyo University of Agriculture where he studies Agricultural Engineering. He has little experience or general interest in video games, receiving the game as a gift from his older brother. With the two of them living in different towns and rarely able to meet in person, he thought this would be a good way for them to connect. Despite his initial unfamilarity with all things gaming, Farms has quickly adapted to the environment and has established himself as an ally to those in need. Be it crafting armor, helping on quests or delving into the labyrinth he has slowly built up a reputation as generally helpful guy. Whether he meant to or not. friends Farms normally tends to keep to himself, doing his best to stay out of trouble while making sure not to cause any himself. But with what has happened in this world, he has had no choice but to step out of his comfort zone to help everyone get home safely. His calm and gentle demeanor rarely falters, which makes him reliably predictable. Some may find this to be a comfort in the frantic and dangerous world they've been trapped in. What most people are likely to appreciate is his willingness to help others. As both a tank and a craftsman, he has dedicated himself to assisting and protecting others the best he can. He's also very trusting, as he feels that since everyone isl in the same boat there is no reason to hide things from one another. Even if this comes back to bite him, he is determined to maintain hope in his fellow players. enemies Just because he wants to believe in people doesn't mean he will. If he were to realize he has been taken advantage of, which most will find is done quite easily, he'll be quick to turn on them. While he wouldn't take action against another person, even if they are his enemy, he would at the very least be hesitant to lend them his aid. His lack of self awareness can often make people uncomfortable as well. He has very little concept of personal space and often jumps to conclusions without even informing anyone. That combined with his lack of knowledge and general ineptitude in the real of gaming could easily rub people the wrong way. Many also find him to be overly passive, something that is likely to irritate those who adopt the warrior-like spirit of this world. loves At the moment, romance is the absolute last thing on Farm's mind. Still he is a heterosexual young man in a fantasy world, whether a willing inhabitant or not. There's always the chance that he could find himself caught up in a romantic situation should he come across the right woman. He has little concern for societal norms, so even an older woman isn't out of the question in his book. Growing up he was always encouraged to be gentlemanly in his conduct, leading him to have a bit of a soft spot for the ladies. He'll always go just a little bit further to help a lady in need should the situation arise. And should he find himself attracted to a woman, her survival would quickly become his priority number one. While this may easily be taken advantage of, he would be unlikely to notice it before it would be painfully obvious to the outside. MADE BY ★MEULK

A really calm farm boy? Meet the really panicky and basically sobbing city girl who can't handle this stress. Prince, currently as the death game has not begun, is running around like an excitable puppy as a tall Princely boy. However, once the death game announcement launches, shes going to find herself as her tiny cry baby self. I'd love for these two to meet either before or after the announcement. I imagine that Prince will find his calmness really reassuring.

Sounds like a perfect match to me. One look at the sniveling little thing and Farms will have no choice but to offer her comfort. I think I'd like for them to meet up before the announcement. Maybe Prince enthusiastically helps Farms get to grips with how a quest works? After something like that them meeting with Prince as her true self would make for a pretty interesting thread. Would be a pretty sudden switching of roles I think. Thoughts?

Senpai, please teach me about crafting: I think it is interesting that both Farmsalot and Ruler have plans to pursue a career of tanking and crafting, though in the latter's case he will still focus somewhat on damage-dealing. I'd like him to be the typical mismatch of wanting to both tank and DPS, which should be a hopeless endeavour. Perhaps I will stray from that idiocy since it'd ruin my character in some way, I worry, haha. But it could be interesting to have Farmsalot and Ruler meet if they have somewhat similar ambitions. Like Nakamoto, Ii got into the game through an older sibling. Both are rather passive. Their similarities are astounding, but it ends there. Ruler's motives to go into crafting are to make money, and then amass such fortunes without ever making use of it. Farmsalot's motives seem more benign. Where Farmsalot may not respect personal space, Ruler does, and he would likely abhor an attitude of recklessly jumping from conclusion to conclusion. The two can butt heads if they wound up doing something together like a quest, but I feel they can be friends despite that. Explore crafting together, exchange recipes or complement each other, maybe. Perhaps Farmsalot can even be the one ensuring Ruler'll never go on the path of heedless fortune amassing, and set Ruler on a path where he'll craft equipment for the benefit of everyone. If the two compliment each other's crafting licenses, it's easier to provide for everyone. Further down the line, maybe the two can start a guild together to provide supplies to people, but then I am getting ahead of myself. Would you be interested in exploring a possible friendly, possibly not-so-friendly relation over a quest, or perhaps a simple talk?

Funny. I don't remember Shoichi having an evil twin.
Seriously though, these guys strike me as a real 'two sides of the same coin' situation. Same path, but very different motivations. To be frank, Farms would find it disgusting that someone is trying to amass some digital currency when people's lives are in danger. That mixed with their conflicting personalities I imagine any relationship they had would be at least a little strained. Still, they're all in this together so Farms would be willing to overlook their differences for the greater good. He may even think that if Ruler sees him sticking to his goal he may follow in suit given time. (By that I mean Farms will undercut him if he doesn't get his act together)
But it's hard to tell exactly how the two will mesh without a thread together. Maybe they can have a pre-announcement thread so they can get to know each other before true colors are revealed. If things go well I could definitely see them doing business together, since trying to master every single crafting skill is horribly inefficient. With how gullible and easily manipulated Farms is it would probably take him a while before he even realized what his goals were. A guild wouldn't be out of the question, maybe with Ruler as the leader and Farms as the number two/conscience of the group. I'd rather wait a bit before doing any guild stuff, but it's a possibility.

I agree, it'd be hard to tell without a thread, exactly how the two would rub each other. Ruler's interest in monetary gain is less selfish and egoistic as it is a matter of not understanding why it'd be wrong, and not fully coming to terms with the connection between games and reality (where he already has difficulty coming to terms with reality period). At least, that was my plan, but I see opportunities to veer off planned paths and enter new ones. A pre-announcement thread sounds good, though Ruler has modified his avatar to look like a middle-aged, mature gentleman instead of the brat he is (though still at the same height). That's probably something to keep in mind. I assume it's the same plotline as the Progressive novel where players only appear as their real selves after the announcement. Did you have a threadplot in mind for making the two meet up?

I don't have a particularly good idea for these two but they're both in the exact same situation. Snow is in Tokyo and just finished university and was getting married and got the game to be able to reconnect with her sister. Lucky, or maybe unlucky for her she met her sister in the game though. But these two could have a lot to talk about, and maybe they find out that they even had some classes together, unless this is his first year? But they both are here for the same reason and aren't big on gaming so maybe they could rely on each other a little bit? I don't know, let me know if you have anything to add on this? MADE BY ★MEULK If he's got a soft spot for girls, Liatris would be the exact person that would take advantage of him. She'd probably pretend she's having a real hard time in a quest, ask him to help her, and then ask him to craft her stuff. She'd act super sweet but would obviously be using him, that is if he would take the bait. But eventually he'd probably catch on and they'd end up hating each other and she'd just tell everyone he made her cry or something and he was sooooo mean. I guess this could also go another way if he doesn't catch on, or decides to forgive her for whatever reason. Which would be, Liatris would either run away and get uncomfortable, or they actually become friends? He'd have to gently let her down on the free stuff, or only give her a small discount and stuff, and instead of flirting just act nice to her. I don't know, just throwing stuff out there.

I think it would be very interesting to have them know each other from outside of the game. With his history there aren't too many people who knew him that would be playing Sword Art. In real life he is much more quiet and lacks that drive to try new things. Whereas within moments of entering the game he has done nothing but explore and try to make new friends Even something simple as being a friend of a friend would be enough for someone to notice the difference. They wouldn't have too much of a relationship, but it would at least be enough to get the ball rolling. With Snow on the hunt for allies, Farms would definitely be willing to lend her his aid. If she needs armor crafted or help on a quest he'd be more than willing to lend a hand. (He may even have heard from their mutual friend she was engaged, giving him even more motivation to get her home safely to her fiance) I think that since they're both honest hard working people just looking to get themselves and their loved ones out of the game they'd work well together. Maybe a post-announcement thread so they can see each other's faces would be good to get the ball rolling for these two. (Provided this all works for you, of course) MADE BY ★MEULK I'll admit it, he's a sucker for a damsel in distress. Her tears would just tug on his poor little heart strings until he was moved to help. Though I don't know how satisfied she should feel considering he'd help a creepy old man out just the same. But still if she plays it up he'll definitely go the extra mile for her, even if it may go against his better judgement. If he did get the impression he was being taken advantage of, I imagine it would become quite the scene. He would be very direct with her, something that I suspect she wouldn't react well to. Forgiveness is definitely an option should he be convinced. Of course a mutual dislike is also a possible outcome. Where these two end up would be hard to tell without an actual thread. But since both options sound like a good time to me I'm perfectly fine with that! In the end they'll either be friends with a good mutual understanding or enemies who would rather not have to deal each other. As I said I'm fine with both of these end results as you are. I like your idea for a thread as well, with Liatris essentially luring him into helping her with a quest. I imagine once she sees his crafted armor she'll realize she could probably squeeze some goodies out of him too.

Everything you said works for me! Including the post-annoucement thread. I don't know if I'm going to get a chance to post tonight but if you want I can start a thread for this tomorrow morning? Then again maybe if I put my headphones on and junk I'll get it done tonight. MADE BY ★MEULK For this, it sounds like we should just see how the outcome happens! Unless you don't want to start two threads with me (No worries if you don't I wont be heart broken haha) but you could start one? We could just jump into a quest thread and maybe they both end up wanting to do the same quest anyway? She'll be a little annoying and wont be doing as much, just a warning. If you wanna switch who starts which one, or if you'd wanna do one over the other that's cool, I just haven't done a quest yet so I'm a little nervous to start one xD.
