Ruler wanted to subjugate the labyrinth. It had been days since the start of the game. While his level hadn't raised that much (a paltry two), Ruler felt like he was lightyears stronger than he had been when Kayaba had appeared floating in the sky.
The labyrinth lay open and exposed. Defeating the boss within the bowels of the dungeon would open the second floor. An unexplored land which brought new dangers, but also new opportunities to strengthen oneself.
More importantly, it would lay the foundation of a trip to the hundreth floor. If they could beat the first floor, it wouldn't simply open the next floor. It'd give progression.
Like starting on your maths homework and having done the start. Ruler saw the labyrinth as the first hurdle they had to overcome to start on the work itself.
Look at me. Ruler smiled wryly. I cowered just a few days ago, but now...
Now he wanted to do nothing more than head into the labyrinth and test his mettle.
He'd need allies for that. Trekking in by his lonesome would be a bad idea... even a party of three might not be sufficient. No, Ruler believed they should go in with as many people as possible.
That's why he stood in the centre of Tolbana. He had a gaudy-looking sign planted beside him, reading 'Seeking Labyrinth Exploration Party', which he hoped would attract people's attention. Before him, he had a mat on which he'd displayed the Curtana he'd forged. A powerful-looking blade with high stats, which would surely convince people he was the real, raw deal.
Just needed to commission Farms for some good armour.
