[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY The NPC in front of him squinted as Areto continued staring, looking him over, and moving every few minutes to try from a new angle. He wasn't quite sure if the NPC was upset by programming or if there was a sentient personality. Everything in the game seemed so life-like. From the emotions that played out on their faces, the feeling in their voices, even the way they interacted with each other. It would be hard to discern the NPCs from a normal person if someone wasn't careful enough to recognize the signs so what would make them any different from a normal player. The ability to log in and out would be one thing but also the ability to have their own free will could be another. Areto straightened up as the NPC seemed increasingly agitated and a player behind him was trying to speak to them. Making himself scarce, he sighed. It had been a few hours since he last encountered Xross and the redhead's words hadn't left his mind. The game was bound to have flaws somewhere but he wasn't quite sure what it was yet. If there was any way that he could aid in development while also having fun, it would be alright, and possibly a good enough excuse for his boss. Areto sighed and rubbed the back of his neck before noticing that he wandered closer to another NPC. It was a young girl dressed in rather nice clothing, upper class-like and she seemed rather worried. Tears brimming in her eyes and a quiver in her lower lip as if she was going to cry. Areto glanced around before sighing. Well, it wasn't as though he was going to ignore a crying child. NPC or not. He spoke to her and the text prompt started up. She was missing a locket and it felt somewhere in a creek. A creek. That was it! Often times in video games, players were barred from entering water or falling off cliffs. Perhaps there was an issue there. Then again, he was hoping not because failing a quest wouldn't be much fun. But it was all in the learning experience. @open [newclass=.strawberry] background-color:#fff;box-shadow: 2px 2px 3px #c0c0c0;height:auto;margin:auto;width: 350px;padding:24px;font-size:11px;[/newclass] [newclass=.coconut] padding:10px;text-align:center;font-family:VT323;font-size:30px;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass]

"Uweh." He sputtered as a giant mob of players rushed by him. For a beta, things were pretty hectic. The tense atmosphere of the official launch was making players all sorts of jittery. To be the first to do things was something pretty cool to brag about. Then again, there was no one around to fact check you most of the time.
As the crowd moved on and left him standing in the middle of the domain that was know as Tolbana, King fixed himself. It was weird for him to be there. Most of his buddies were offline, catching some Zs and counting sheep, while others wandered the world by their lonesome. And there he was: by himself.
That was until a little girl tugged on the cuff of his sleeve, the saddened look on her face as if she had lost her parents. In a crowd like that, he wouldn't have been surprised.
That was until a slight screen flashed upon his screen and a light chirp whistled in his ear. It was a quest.
The Korean gentleman knelt down to eye level. "Alright. You stay here and I'll find it for you, okay?" A slight pat and rub on her head, he stood tall and looked around for any potential aids in this quest of his.
"Woh! You!" He called over to a fairly armored fellow.

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY Was this how it felt to wait in a queue? Areto wasn't sure who to invite for the quest. Most of the persons on his friends list were either busy or not online and he wasn't sure if he could stray too far from the quest giver. Opening up his inventory and peering through the manual, he hadn't noticed the NPC wander away from him. He had just reached the part about «SKILLS» when someone called out to him. Glancing up from the book, Areto looked over and noticed a dark-haired male making his way towards him with the NPC by his side. He raised an eyebrow and stood to his feet as the former called out to him. Did she find me a partner? The little girl stopped in the same place that Areto found her and turned her attention towards the other player. Areto followed her gaze and returned his manual to it's proper place before folding his arms across his chest with a warm smile. " Hey there, I'm Areto," he said. " Although, 'you' seems like a nice name too." He shook his head a little and unfolded his arms, settling his hands on his hips. " So I'm taking it that you're doing the quest with me?" The girl had wandered off to go find his counterpart. It was a very short walk to the other gentleman that was partaking in the quest. The 29-year-old looked over the blonde once, twice, thrice. They seemed like they knew what they were doing. Jeong Ho felt as though he was in the company of greatness and he felt the experience humbling him. Out in the real world he was someone, but in here, he was at the bottom of the food chain.
Nonetheless, that gave him a bit of motivation to get to the same level that guy was, literally and figuratively.
The blonde introduced himself and King was obviously a decent human being and approached his partner. His hand extended now to offer and quick exchange of palm sweat, he held a smile on his face.
"The name's King!" With the smile still on his face, he nodded once in respect to the clearly higher-leveled toon. "Areto's a good name. Unique. 'You' is pretty rude."
Going back to the man's question, King rocked his head forward slightly in a nod. "Yes!" The man exclaimed with the confidence of a champion before his demeanor slunk away in a nervous laugh.
"But I'm pretty new to this game so I'm not sure where to go." Rubbing the back of his head, he could feel the figurative drop of sweat break the plane of his front-most hairline.

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY Everyone seemed to be rather nice so far in the game. There were some persons who were a bit rough around the edges but the vast majority seemed to thoroughly enjoy their time in the game. That was something to be noted and rather sweet considering that it was an immersive game. However, he wasn't intending to meet someone that was this friendly besides Prince. It was nice though. Shaking hands with the stranger who then identified himself as King, he could feel a bit of sweat. Was he nervous? Over meeting someone like him? Areto would've laughed but he remembered the predicament. He wasn't wearing his normal gear like before and it had been a few days since beta started. Taking a break from the game seemed like a desirable option as the days passed by but he feared that if he did, news of important events wouldn't reach him properly, and that'd be a shame. Nonetheless, he didn't have any qualms about helping new players or even engaging in activities with them. What was the old saying? Teach a man how to fish and he'll eat for the rest of his life? Something like that. " Don't worry about that," he said. " If you want, I don't mind explaining things to you. Though, to get a gauge of how much you know, did you read the user manual that came with the game?" With the sighting of a new player, Areto must have thought this guy was a 'newbie' to the realm of video games. It wasn't so much the mechanics he was trying to get a hang of. It was more so the fact that he had no idea where anything was.
"Mhm. I did read the manual but you look like you know your way around." King wiped the virtual drops of nervousness against his pant leg.
"I really don't know how to navigate around this game. Like, I remember that big town square in the beginning, but that's about it." Shrugging his shoulders, it was evident that he was as lost as a puppy and Areto was unfortunate enough to get this bugger to latch onto him.
King placed his hands on his hips. He knew better than to disturb people when it felt like they didn't want to be. He had a knack for reading the mood. Or so he thought. All those years in school really took a toll on his social awareness.
"If it's too much trouble, I can figure it out on my own." Waving his hand as if he were trying to dismiss Areto, he secretly wanted someone to talk to and quest with for once.

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY King was so nice, Areto thought. He was mannerable and seemed rather nervous to be speaking to him. Though, he was forthright with his words and his inexperience which made things a lot easier. The manual did seem to help many of the newer players but Areto wasn't a fool. He knew that it would take a bit more work to be able to navigate through the game especially with the feeling of being in a different body (or in his case, a different world). Turning someone away when they need help as if it's a hassle, what a sad thing to do. Areto laughed lightly and waved his hand dismissively at the thought. " There's no way I would turn away someone so sincere," he said. " Any questions you have, I'm happy to answer." He crossed his arms behind his head and balanced on one foot. Their quest details mentioned a creek that was running throughout the Town of Beginnings. It would be a good idea to start travelling there and talking on the way. Then again, he wouldn't mind lolly-gagging for a bit more and getting to know his newfound acquaintance (friend??). It was nice to meet a friendly soul in a video game. His experiences with MOBAs and MMOs usually involved individuals with elitist mentalities. Not to say he didn't have one, but his wasn't as prevalent as others. This encounter, however, was a pleasant one.
Areto dismissed King's offer of leaving him to figure it out on his own. King felt like a burden, but he knew better than to look a gift horse in the mouth. He was presented with an opportunity to be social and acclimate himself to the game. He was going to take it.
"Thanks. I appreciate the help." A small smile curled up on the corner of his mouth before he crossed his arms and shifted his weight over to one leg, somewhat mirroring Areto's posture.
King swiped into the air, bringing up the user interface. "Did you want to wait a bit more or do you want to head out now?" The quest details said the creek was near the Town of Beginnings. It was a bit of a walk, but more company would have been nice. If it ever showed up.

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY That was a relief. He didn't want to scare away any new beta testers. Especially those that seemed rather kind and genuine. Keeping his level a secret proved to be the best option but his weaponry along with his armor seemed to give him away more than anything else. Adjusting his cloak a bit so it fell over his shoulders, hiding most of his clothing from view, Areto tried to think it over. The quest would've been more helpful with extra hands. But other players seemed to be keen on exploring combat rather than "search and seizure" sort of missions. There was a high chance that if the two of them sat here any longer, no one else would come, but there was also the chance that someone would. " Hm," he said. " We could start off to the creek. It should be a little ways off and if anyone else wants to join the mission, they'll catch up." Areto crossed his arms behind his head and motioned for King to follow him. " So, how long have you been playing so far?" Areto brought up good points. It was rather funny how he was now finding himself tailing another person in his life. Being a doctor out in the real world required long hours playing scribe to the doctors of a hospital. Those long hours translated into an actual job and that job translated into money. Now he was doing the same, but he was working towards experience and Col. It was an exciting experience considering he was brand new to the game and he was this player's dog, essentially.
"I'm pretty new, I think. I just booted up the game. It's pretty hard to find any downtime in my field of work." King paced quickly to walk up to Areto's left. As a companion, it was an untold rule that the superior led from the right side. "So I've been walking around and trying to get used to things."
Areto had this very lax atmosphere around him. It was a comforting feeling and it reminded King of the patients that really saw the silver lining in things. It made him smile knowing that there were some people who were positive in attitude, or at least not a Debbie Downer.
"How about you? How long have you been playing? You got that big old cloak over your shoulders like you're trying to hide something."

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY Logging into the game for the first time seemed as though it was ages ago. Although, it had only been five days and he wasn't exactly sure of how much time he should spend logged in. His backlog had been finished and he was spared a lot of free time from work. Using the game as a way to alleviate his boredom while transitioning from one task to the next, it was fun for him, but perhaps a bit too much fun. Areto smiled at King once the other hurried to his side and then glanced down at the cloak that was covering most of his clothing from view. " Being a high-level player makes you a bit of an enigma to others," he said. " Especially since it's only been five days." He huffed and shook his head. " If anyone saw what my armor looked like, they'd be able to tell in an instant," Areto mumbled. " I'd rather be treated as though I was one of the others than an idol." Areto smiled at King. " You thought I'd turn you away, right?" Glancing away, he chuckled. " I wonder if that is how others are when they've reached 'greatness'." After a few hours of playing in the game, Eve felt pretty comfortable in her body. She wasn't prone to tripping over her overly large feet anymore and her depth perception was getting better too. All in all, the woman was liking her new identity in this virtual world. More so when it was easier to socialize with others. Girls did a lot more talking and the guys did a lot more joking around.
However, her time in the game was currently in the beta phase and Eve was determined to try and help out a little bit. She had found herself in another beginner town - Tolbana. Like in the Town of Beginnings there were a ton of players milling about and mobbing whatever NPC was around. Quests and all.
Just as she was about to join one of the bigger groups, a little girl grabbed hold of her sleeve and immediately a quest popped out for her. Eve quickly scanned through the objectives and hit the accept button, and was about to stand around to wait for someone else to show up. However, the same petite NPC was tugging her in a direction and pointing towards two figures walking away.
Was she meant to follow them?
The woman should have probably asked the girl to double check, but one of them seemed familiar. "Heey!" She hoped her shout was loud enough to garner their attention. As luck would have it though, her new legs and extreme boost in height had her catching up to them in no time.
"Ah... Sorry for interrupting, but are you guys also going for the little girl's quest by the creek?" A nervous chuckle escaped her, hoping that she wasn't wrong.

Areto had good reasons to be all cloaked up. Anyone seeing how loaded he was would definitely feel some type of way. In a way, King was feeling that type of way. However, he brushed those feelings aside knowing very well that good things come to those who work hard. That's what he was trying to do himself. He just needed a little bit of help and he was getting that help from the likes of someone like Areto.
"Actually, I didn't think you'd turn me away. Good people don't let people out to dry. So you saying yes just proves you're a good guy-" As King was trying to explain himself and his little prod of a test, a very tall fellow came trotting out of nowhere.
"Oh. Oh, wow. Castiel. Hey." This new addition to the gang had gotten the same quest, apparently. "Yeah, we are. Did you wanna come along too?"
Without being rude, King turned his attention back to Areto. "Do you mind if Castiel tags along? He's an alright guy."

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]SEARCH PARTY Areto smiled a little with a shrug of his shoulders. King's words were nice but it didn't quite erase that feeling of doubt. His level seemed to put him at odds with other people but he didn't feel as though he had any skill. Hell, he wasn't even sure if he possessed any special abilities either. Areto was just one of those guys who got lucky and had to deal with the effects of such luck. " I suppose you're right," Areto mumbled. " Thank you." The amount of people on the streets was steadily thinning out as they were approaching the outskirts where the creek should be. Though to his surprise, there was someone that was running to catch up to them. Looking over his shoulder, he raised an eyebrow at the newcomer. Dark hair and rather tall just like King but this person seemed to be a little nervous. " Oh.." He looked in King's direction and tilted his head to the side with a little smile. Did they know one another? This would make things easier especially for King if he had a mutual friend. " I don't mind," Areto said. " Welcome to the team, Castiel." Opening his menu, he motioned to send a party invite before remembering that one hadn't even been made. " You know, this would be a good time to actually make a party." He went to the «FRIENDS/GUILD» tab and created a party before sending out an invite. «ARETO» would like to add you to a party

Seeing King's familiar visage made her feel a bit lucky. While she wouldn't go out of her way to find him or ask to band together for some quest, Eve preferred to people she had already talked to. Not that the woman was completely shy or antisocial, it was simply easier to deal.
"Thanks," she said, addressing both of the men. "That would be cool, if you guys don't mind me tagging along." They really saved her the embarrassment of having to ask to join outright and possibly getting rejected. Both guys were cool though; they accepted her without much thought.
A party invite appeared in her line of sight. It wasn't a big deal or anything, but Eve was about to experience how it was to be in a group setting for a quest. Little bars were now visible below her own curving green HP bar, showing their names and hit points.
Perhaps it was because she wasn't quite a gamer, but Eve only raised a brow when she saw the blonde's higher number. "Excuse me," she started, stepping forward and offering a hand in greeting. "I didn't catch your name." Should she also reiterate her name? It was redundant, in her opinion, so she left it out.
