“Don’t you feel a little bit better out here?” she asked with an enthusiastic tone in her voice. She hoped for once that Kiki wasn’t just doing this to amuse her but because she also knew that she needed it. This entire situation wasn’t her fault and it hurt to see her friend beat herself up over it.
It was quite an unfair situation; Kiki wouldn’t have possibly known this was the developer’s intentions and if she had known, August believed with all of her heart that there was no way Kiki would willingly advertise and encourage people to play into something as twisted as this.
Her friend wasn’t fairing too well, August could tell. In an attempt to make her feel better, she figured that actually leaving the town would be a good idea. No constant feeling of people watching you all the time and plenty of fresh air to breathe. Besides, there was no chance August was going to be able to cook if she didn’t have the skills and money for it. Baking and cooking was a stress reliever for her but more importantly, she was sure that her baked goods would help put a smile back on Kiki's face.
She hadn’t intended on doing a quest; this was simply supposed to be a nice walk for the two of them, but August was at a loss for words when they ran into the NPC. She supposed they could have just left her there, but August was too faint of heart for that.
She looked over at Kiki with pleading eyes; they had all of eternity to talk now, didn’t they? Being trapped in a game together meant they had to stick together and that was going to lead to more quality time than they would have ever had the chance to have back in the real world.
