[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]UH-OH Areto wasn't an expert on etiquette. Nor was he the sort of person who'd be the one to squeeze moral values into another. However, there was some degree of responsibility that needed to be taken once someone's child went rogue. He was sitting near an elderly man who was harping about his missing granddaughter. Apparently, the quest centered around her being brought back home though no one knew where she was at the moment. He wondered how old she could have been and whether or not he was actually keeping a watchful eye on her all the time. Did he really know what she was like or was this just an inference based on a biased opinion? Nonetheless, it was a mission and this was a story and he'd just have to play along with it, he figured. Didn't mean that he couldn't have a bit of fun with it as well. Opening up the mission for anyone to join him, he leaned against the wall to which the crate he was sitting on had been situated. Huh, this is my first time seeking out another person. fond of the pretense this world offered, patience had taken to mapping the town for himself quickly -- the landscape, as well as the npcs who smiled or frowned constantly, and who always seemed to be cajoling adventurers into enjoying the same wares, inviting his distant curiosity. their lives would only be interrupted by tragedy that he and other players would be called upon to fix. very few of them would stay miserable -- conveniently, they always needed another to end their sorrows and needs, with countless candidates to accost for the job.
up to this point, patience hadn't yet taken on such a task himself. his observations were made from witnessing others, the way they paired off or formed temporary, loose groups; yet now, as patience exhaled and his steps turned down a new path, he found a restless twinge enough reason to stop and purposely listen in on a conversation floating in the air. an old man's hoarse tone trembled with concern, the same way his hands did as he spoke to another beta tester, this one with an air of playful cool that intrigued patience immediately. the old man beseeched more -- patience refrained from cutting into the pair's exchange with his own words.
still ... before he'd fully moved away, patience paused.
perhaps he could use a bit of added purpose to his explorations.
he approached with an open air, smiling in a benign and crookedly sympathetic way at the old man (as if he were anything more than a particularly convincing specter) -- but clearly putting his primary attentions towards the shorter player - green cursor telltale - and the simple quest at hand.
unfolding his arms, he quietly cleared his throat.
"it looks like that gentleman's family relations have seen better days," patience began, tilting his head a little, voice even, though a tad bemused. his smile was polite, considering what he was commenting on -- then again, it wasn't as though this was a real person. "can i ask your guess, stranger? does it sound like she's really lost?"
perhaps they'd find out together.

[attr="class","strawberry"] [attr="class","coconut"]UH-OH Areto was becoming increasingly bored while waiting. It wasn't that the game was boring him rather that he wasn't having a good time pandering to others. These quests which were known as "milk runs" or "repeatables" were simply boring to some adventurers who wanted to get their feet wet. He sighed softly and remembered when his mother told him little stories about having to work hard to achieve the fundamentals before moving on to the intermediates. There were some people who simply couldn't seem to understand that and otherwise tossed caution to the wind. Sometimes, he could be one of them, but today wasn't that day. When he was close to just letting out another sigh, someone came forward with a little quip and a soft smile. He looked up and immediately deadpanned. This guy was pretty to say the least or at least his avatar was. Areto could've gulped or looked away or even jumped for joy but instead, he just gave a warm smile and stood to his feet. Crossing his arms behind his head, leaning back on the heel of his feet, Areto hummed. " Good question," he said. " It seems as though she wasn't very keen on being found." He flashed the stranger a smile. " My guess is that she just wanted to be independent for awhile and lost track of the time. But I suppose we'll find out." Extending one of his hands, Areto said. " I'm Areto, nice to meet you."
