Out of all people in this world to have joined Sword Art Online, it had to be him. Diz felt as though his skin was crawling and the anxiety that he held back for so long was threatening to bubble up and overflow. He had to get away from this. He had to run from this. He had to do something. The samurai ran his fingers through his hair and muttered a few prayers while pressing his forehead against the brick wall. Arata replaced him. Deep down in his heart, even if he felt that the other would have come to feel something for him one day, it was false. It was all a lie and something that he would have to accept. Diz swallowed and shut his eyes. Clenching the strands of hair only to give them a light yank as to remind himself of the pain that he could feel. The pain that I still feel. But there were more pressing matters. Issues that were steadily arising and taking form. Wrapping around him and exploding before his very eyes. They were trapped inside of this game. He was here. His friends were here. Souta was here. Souta. If he couldn't defend himself from his own emotions, how could he save Souta. Arata was in the past. His adoration, his love, his happiness at that time was nothing more than a facade made by a boy who knew no better. Pulling himself together, Diz opened up his menu though being careful not to move his arm too quickly. He was recovering but he wasn't fully healed. Some of his reaction were slower. Slurred and careful. The quest details for LOST KITES opened up and he reminded himself to put up a beacon for other players to find him. Sitting on the steps which led up to the NPC's home, he twiddled with his fingers and waited.

[nospaces] [break] you can't see all the things I take ''Oh my god, wow, can you stop?'' she said, her tone impatient. [break][break] Her brother was being a grade a moron right now. Mainly because he kept trying to tell her what to do - if he kept doing that, she was going to bite him for real - and it was starting to grate on her nerves. She wasn't going to let him bother her like that, she was smarter dammit and she had a better time of thinking things then he did. So he could just go shove a dildo up his ass and stay there jesus christ. The girl flipped the bird at him, before stomping off with an angry huff, when her eyes caught on to something. [break][break] Wasn't that a player beacon or something like that? [break][break] She immediately made for the beacon, her dyed blue hair bouncing behind her. Her eyes, a sparkling blue - much like her brother, their shared traits that she wished she could hide sometimes - caught on to some sort of guy. Okay, one that didn't look like he was all there either. She looked at him a moment, before she frowned. No, just walking up to him wasn't going to work, she was pretty sure about that. ''Hello Friend!'' she said, and for a moment she suddenly looked disgusted. Great, she sounded like her brother right there, god damn that fucker. Shaking her head, she waved a hand at him, knowing said brother wasn't far behind. ''You're waiting on people for a quest right? Well me and my brother can help!'' she said. [break][break] She gave the guy a tentative smile, because she didn't need to be a rude person right now, and he seemed kind of nice, maybe. [break][break] She'll see soon. Diz had been lost in his thoughts while playing with his own fingers. It felt so surreal. Waking up in another world, being surrounded by people that he didn't know and learning more about himself everyday. He wasn't sure how long he had been asleep or if he should be worried about that at all. It was his choice to fall asleep and no one else could have stopped him. It is what he needed. Much better than staying awake and hoping that he could work alongside his body to fix himself. Because contary to popular belief, the mind and body were separate entities, and he had to leave his to do its job while he tried to complete his own. A voice called out to him and Diz slowly lifted his head before standing up abruptly. " Oh, yes!" He almost hit himself for sounding so eager but it was nice to have someone else to talk to. At least then it wouldn't be so annoying and he'd make a friend. Possibly. " I'm Diz, it's nice to meet you." He opened up his menu and sent her a party invite. She seemed nice enough though he was curious about the markings on her face. Pax charged after his sister in a huff. This wasn't what he meant by finding some quests to help people with. More players usually meant less EXP and less EXP meant less quests later on. He didn't mean other players, he had meant NPCs. He felt slamming her head into a wall at that very moment. This wasn't a game anymore. This was a challenge involving life or death. As if God Himself had challenged Pax to a no-death run of the most difficult game he'd ever played. He was brimming with energy and excitement. Sure, he could die, but he wasn't going to.
At a very fast pace, Pax held out his hand and connected his palm to the side of his sister's head, shoving her out of the way. He hoped she would topple to the ground, but he doubted she would. Then, he took a breath, ready to tirade at his sister.
"You buffoon! We have to go pick up our own quests right now! I didn't mean find someone who already grabbed a quest! I was just trying to explain to you how the EXP system works, but you never listen to me you fuckin- . . ."
He trailed off as he realised there was another person there. With an embarrassed chuckle, he turned his head towards his new acquaintance with a coy smile, "Hello, friend. I didn't mean to frighten you. I'm Paxilon."
Maybe grabbing quests with other players wouldn't be too bad if they could also get a decent amount of quests on their own time. KIERA DIZ

[nospaces] [break] you can't see all the things I take She felt a smile touch her lips as the male seemed to respond to her. [break][break] Of course, his party invite bounced, coming back as 'already in a party' notification. She didn't even mind his eagerness, she thought it was rather endearing. And of course, all of this nice fuzzy feeling she was building was immediately ruined by her brother. His hand came in hard and fast, pushing her on the side of the head. She was going to tumble, but she grabbed onto him with a snarl. She tugged at him hard, hoping that he falls too, but her blue eyes focused on him and his bloody filthy mouth. He was probably scaring the poor guy, as the girl decided that he needed to be put into his place. [break][break] Stomping on his foot, she let out an angry huff. ''Well, you fuckwad, since you can't do quests solo, there's obviously going to be party bonuses, because they force you to be at least two - why not reward larger groups? Like seriously, we have the time to help on out, quests refresh and people aren't going to move for a few days - not the pack anyways. The ones moving now are the outliers, and we kinda need them for late game. If you'd take a moment and think, you'd figure that much out, moron.'' she said, her tone acid. Giving him a glare, she just turns back to the other boy, and sends him a party invite. Good thing she's the party leader because else wise her brother would be such a bloody dick about it. [break][break] ''Don't mind him, he's just being an ass. We're perfectly fine doing the quest with so. My name's Kiera and yours?'' she says, a smile lighting up her face as she turns to the other male. Rather, now that she looks at him, he does kind of look like her brother. It's rather interesting, but right now those are not thoughts she should think about, considering she had to keep her brother in line. [break][break] PAXILON, DIZ[googlefont="Muli|Pavanam"]

Just as Diz was going to answer her questions or start up another bit of conversation, another person entered the scene. Diz stood off to the side as he watched the two go back and forth. So they were siblings and friendly ones at that. Although the girl's words were harsh, they seemed to be in the right place of care and a small smile formed. He wondered if there were other siblings in the game who went at one another in such a way. But it would be awful if they were trapped in this kind of place with one another and no way to return home. It must feel nice to have someone else to count on and look after. Diz huffed and mustered up a warm smile. " It's nice to meet you both," he said. He sent an invite to Paxilon. The quest was rather simple and shouldn't take them too long. But he knew that the quest items wouldn't materialize until he had enough members in his party. Once Paxilon accepted, Diz would look around to the trees to see if he could catch sight of any strings. " Alright, I'm going to assume that you both looked over the quest details?" The samurai folded his arms and smiled. " Well, I would hope that you did instead of running into this blindly." He said teasingly. With that, he turned on his heel and headed down one of the lantern lit streets. The kites should be stuck in a tree somewhere. Pax barely managed to hold his own against his sister's grip. He was almost pleased with himself as he didn't fall with her. And then her foot connected very sharply with his. Pain signals jammed themselves into his brain, and he reflexively jumped back, only to find that his sister had let go of his arm. And then there was the ground. He moaned with a mouthful of dust, laying sideways on the ground. Pain ached all over his body, but he'd lost no HP, thankfully. Pax caught the stranger smiling just ever so slightly, though. He took note of that. Either a sadist, or someone who understood the idea of sibling rivalry. Either way, probably someone he'd get along with.
Sitting up rather awkwardly, Pax laughed, "Well, we're in a rush to get all of these quests done, see. We have to get a move on and all that."
He tapped accept on the request as he stood up. He remembered this quest from the beta; it was easy and fast. Nodding to himself he looked at his sister. He might have an unfair advantage, but she wouldn't be able to resist a challenge.
"Want to make a bet, Kie?" he knew that she already knew the bet. More kites means winner. Simple challenge. An evil grin creeped on to his face. He remembered where at least three kites were. And he was fully prepared to dash to the nearest one in a heartbeat. KIERA DIZ

[nospaces] [break] you can't see all the things I take She had noticed the male's smile, and nodded softly. [break][break] She could probably guess some of the thoughts in his head, if she really wanted to. But she wouldn't instead letting herself become focused on the quest ahead. And then she realized something. ''Oh god, Pax you idiot look what you did.'' she said, before kicking his shin this time. She had totally forgot the guy's name, and asked for it again - right after he told her too - because of her brother's bloody need to be the asshole he is. Sometimes, she didn't mind it, but with other people it was just downright embarrassing sometimes. Considering she was probably more socially adjusted then he was to say the very least. The girl let out a sigh and shook her head, before turning her attention to the male. [break][break] ''Sorry about that, Diz-san, my brother easily distracts me sometimes.'' she said, blushing a little. She had honestly not meant to do something stupid like that. But she gave the male a smile, before nodding. ''I read every prompt I ever get, so I know what we have to do. Doesn't help my brother over there is a beta tester and he kept chatting about the quest the whole way here.'' she said, shaking her head. She did grin at his tease, and giggled at it, but then her brother came from left field. Dammit, she thought that eating dirt would have tempered him but nope, he was going to be an ass all the same. Sometimes, she wondered what she had done to be stuck with someone like him, rubbing her temples. [break][break] ''Why the fuck would I make a bet with you on this? You're a fucking beta tester and you're going to cheat like a wife with the mailman. So no, take your bet and shove it up your ass with that match stick you call a dick.'' she said, even flipping him the bird. Just a regular day between the siblings, honestly, even as she trotted after the man. She was shaking her head, letting out a sigh. But she switched gears, gazing around the treeline for some clue that there was a kite there. ''Do you have any siblings Diz-san?'' she asks, because walking in silence is probably awkward when you're used to arguing all the time. [break][break] She has no doubt her brother ran off to go collect some kites, probably because he knew she was going to still try and beat him even without taking the bet, because he had irritated her. Diz's gaze flicked between the pair and an amused smile found its way onto his lips. They argued like an old married couple. Or at least how he remembered his grandparents arguing with one another. He folded his arms after opening up his HUD and read over the mission agreement before accepting it. While the pair argued, he looked at the trees surrounding him. He didn't have a kite as a young boy growing up in the city. But he did see them in television shows and movies along with the days where he'd leave the city to go to the countryside with his father. They flew by currents of air and usually landed in trees or on the ground when the current couldn't carry them any longer. He didn't feel a breeze right now. Lowering his gaze, he smiled and walked off only to come back with a blue kite in his arms. " Yes, I do have siblings actually," he said. " And I understand the sibling rivalry." They needed five kites, at least this was a way for them to play nicely with one another. But he had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't going to happen even if he wanted to. " Shall we?" He smiled over his shoulder, turning to walk down the street. Pax felt the sting from his sister's remark. But instead of trying to come up with something to reply with, he only smiled. He knew that she was going to try anyway. She might've been hateful towards him, but he knew how she worked. Honestly, of the two of them he was the most competitive, but he was also the laziest. As they walked, he watched as Diz brought back a kite. He frowned a little at not being the first one to get one of the kites, but shrugged. As they walked, he listened to Diz explain how he knew about sibling rivalry and he laughed softly.
"Rivalry is too soft a word," he replied, following Diz with a nod.
As they walked, Pax found he had few words for Diz. It wasn't that he thought the man unfriendly, but rather more like he was just at a loss for words. A little white string caught his attention and he grinned. The kite was on top of a bunch of cargo crates, all stacked neatly like stairs. He casually climbed up the boxes, grabbed the kite, and promptly returned to the group, waving the kite at his sister like an exam paper that he'd scored a perfect score on. DIZ KIERA
