▲ What did they always say? Stay calm, and assess the situation? Put together a rational, well thought out plan and you'll get through anything? That was all well and good, but how could he possibly do that now? It felt like his heart was going to pop out of his chest or was that even his heart? Or was it some sort of figment of his imagination, his brain sending impulses back to his body to snap him out of it only for the nerve-gear to intercept the signal and send them into the game. He was lucky that he lived with one other level headed person, whilst he loved his family, they would have certainly yanked the head piece off. Jin paused, looking around the town's center. It was flooded with players, many of which were confused, and lost - as lost as the man himself. Once more, he took to the sky as crimson hues stared blankly off. Worrying and acting as if he had no idea what was happening would help no one. He knew he needed to get out there, to make himself as powerful as possible. "oooooor I could go get a drink. I like THAT plan much more..." 'Training' would come with time. And time was all they had. There was no sense in rushing into something that might just get him killed. Drinking imaginary liquor on the other hand had EVERY benefit. Sociable, in town, and of course, there was no way to die. "Now, where to go..." He was still fairly new to the world, and the town itself - not like those beta testers, they knew all the neat tips and tricks. Still, no rest for the weary. @ tag ● # # # ● notes MADE BY VEL OF GS

Sifting Through Kaito needed to snap out of it. She'd spent the last week moping about her situation and holing up into her room at the inn. She couldn't let the game keep her down like this – instead, she'd resolved to meet someone new. Even if that meant just sitting in the inn's lobby and eating a virtual lunch and drinking some virtual tea. Most of these inns seemed well equipped with kitchens, not dissimilar from most hotels in the real world. At least they thought to program some comfort into this environment for us, Kaito thought, trying to be optimistic.
The brunette sat down at a table and fidgeted with the interface menus that it triggered. She decided on a cup of tea, and began to nurse the mug, waiting for the inn to become bustling with new people. Even if no one is willing to talk to me, I'm sure I'll learn a bit more about this game by watching.
She stared down into her cup and watched the bubbles on the top of the glass pop, the warmth in her hand giving her a false sense of serenity. It brought her back, if only briefly, to when she would be at home in the mornings, eating breakfast with her family before a long day of classes. Or to when she'd be curled up on the sofa, drinking soup to calm her illnesses. But that is not where you are, not anymore, she reminded herself.
Kaito set the cup down and focused her eyes on the amount of people in the inn. She did have a hard time discerning between Player and NPC, but she noticed that she was one of the only players still hanging around: everyone else was dressed similarly, had similar features. Even if they'd spent years developing Sword Art Online, Kaito noticed that they had followed suit with many games previously released by palette swapping the majority of its immortal objects. Still, she hoped that she would find someone else to join her before she finished her tea.

The fear was all too palpable in the air, the oppressive atmosphere filled the town center like a curse. What could be done after such a horrific realization? For most it meant lingering around waiting for some sort of help to come, but others sought to escape, to move forward; it was easy to find those people. Genjo was in shock from the revelation of SAO's true nature, but he couldn't let that get in the way of formulating some sort of plan. As if operating only on instinct he scanned the players surrounding him, faces full of worry and frustration, they were not worth his time. From the pile his sharp eyes focused on one face, one that showed purpose. The player made his way towards the taller man, weaving through the occasional group of players. The boy wasn't that suited to socializing, but he knew he had to find allies even before he could make sense of his situation.
Soon he was close to the strangers side, who really was a bit strange since he was talking to himself, but the information would definitely aid his opening. Genjo took a silent breath and spoke,
"If you're looking for that, then I can show you an inn that has good prices on drinks." He spoke calmly, but with sufficient volume to overpower the crowd surrounding the plaza, "Unfortunately you will be unable to inebriate yourself with alcoholic drinks." He added, leaving out the fact that he'd tried many times in vain. The light-haired player tried to remember exactly where the inn he mentioned was located, soon he had a route planned; the boy beckoned the stranger to follow him with a short hand-wave. Whether anything fruitful would come of this remained unknown, but to simply have a second opinion from someone who wasn't emotionally crippled was valuable enough. ▲ Eyes widened for a moment before he turned his head to see another man to his side. It took a moment, but Jin smiled and nodded. "I'd appreciate that..." and whilst his initial plan was foiled, no alcohol? Shame, but his true intention was to meet other players, and maybe a woman too. "That's fine..." He started, shrugging his shoulders and raising both hands in defeat. "Maybe it's just because it's the starting town...right?" Of course not, it's not a state of mind, but rather a reaction to the chemicals in your body. Jin bowed slightly, allowing the other man to lead the way, though as the two of them walked, he kept his eyes peeled. The inn came into view, and soon the the noise from the town fell to a whisper and the inn's residents took over. Jin's eyes scanned the room from left to right, and then back again until he noticed one person sitting alone. A wide grin spread across his lips as he pointed toward the table. "I found us a table, let's go!" He started to move before he paused, spun on the heel of his foot and stuck his hand out. "Sorry, my names Jin...like, my real name...not this nonsense." He said, waving his hand above his head in random directions, not quite sure where to point. After finally making the other mans acquaintance, he once more headed for the table he saw. He stopped, leaned forward and smiled. "Hey, I saw you sitting alone and wondered if perhaps you'd like some company." He saw down across from the woman, offering a hand. "I'm Jin." Without a doubt he had been more direct with a woman. MADE BY VEL OF GS

One could only hope it was just this town that lacked the sweet intoxication of alcohol, but something told him that Kayaba wouldn't be so kind to his players. Though he shared the same disappointment as Jin, he couldn't help but leak a half-smile after seeing his reaction. The walk took a little longer than he expected, the flow of players moving in and out of the streets was surely increasing by the day. Once they reached the inn the irritating bustle of the streets were replaced with the subtle clinking of mugs and hushed conversations. He panned through the room, it was strange to see this place so devoid of players; in their stead were NPC's, though they were somewhat easy to identify at this point since most players wore basic starting equipment, the kind that most of the AI didn't have.
Hearing that he'd picked out a table he began to follow Jin in a casual gait; suddenly the man halted, turned around and introduced himself. His eyebrows raised slightly in surprise of the man's forwardness, it wasn't often people introduced themselves with their real name. He definitely agreed with him that alias' didn't mean much now that the game had become so real. The blue-eyed boy gladly met Jin's handshake, giving him three firm shakes before releasing, "Genjo, then. Nice to meet you." He replied earnestly, "I'm going to order some drinks." he stated before making his way over to the bar. It didn't take long for him to receive the two tall mugs of ale he paid for, one of the few upsides of living in a game world he supposed. GENJO "ONI" NISHIYAMA PHARAOH LEAP.
