Gran was whistling one of her old war melodies, walking -almost skipping- along the road to her next destination. What had it been called again? Spud Farm? She laughed a bit at the thought of its name. She bet it wasn't even a potato farm. Why was it called that, then? She mused quietly to herself and looked back to the girl she had following her, smiling a devious grin, "You're not still upset about earlier, are you?"
Gran slowed down and tapped the handle of her mace, as if indicating that it were her bodyguard, "I could've taken on four of those pigs at once and given them what for. I'm not some normal noob that's on the ropes in this game. I'm a special noob."
She chuckled a bit and continued onward to the farm there were supposed to begin the quest at. She could see the distant field of the farm, practically swarming with boars. That was a little worrisome for her. That meant no other players had been killing things at the farm today. She felt her heart raise a little bit faster at the thought of the challenge. She just hoped Albedo wouldn't slip up this time. ALBEDO Quest

With a quick break to pick up a crafting order she had done and a quick hop back to the location, Albedo was looking a lot better for wear than she had been before. Most of the starter gear had been discarded for a ruffled blouse and a pair of black shorts, her worn shoes had been discarded, and she just looked like a barefoot swordswoman... and slightly more feminine. She had her hands behind her head, glancing sideways at Gran. "Yeah, I'm better. Got some kickass gear, and I'll be more careful." She grinned. "Besides, I think either one of us could've taken that last quest no problem. This one, on the other hand..." She glanced at it. It was the same familiar setting. She actually remembered this as the first quest she ever did in the beta, once upon a time. She remembered it pretty fondly. It was where she had met ARETO , sang and kyojinchichi ... After a good fifteen minutes of travel time, at least, what looked to be a farmer's farm, complete with a grazing field came into view. When they managed to get close enough to see what was in it, what they saw was... well, it was an infestation. Crops were upturned, and vicious looking hogs were wandering the fields in search of food. A fence enclosed the fields, but it looked as if there was a broken board at one part of the field. Albedo kicked up a foot to let his foot rest on one of the lower boards of the fence, and he leaned on his knee as he studied the area. She glanced around, and couldn't help but laugh. "Oh man. They still haven't fixed that damn fence." She said as she pointed at one of the ends of the field. "Too bad NPCs can't really learn from their mistakes." She withdrew her sword and scanned the area a little bit. "I think I see just two over there. Should work out okay if you take one and I take the other... unless you wanna do switchin' to be safe?" She asked Gran granxgran [newclass=.pricklebear]background-color:#fff;height:auto;width:450px;margin: 0 auto;box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px 1px #c0c0c0;border: 10px solid #f9f9f9;font-family:Calibri;font-size:12px;padding:24px;text-align:justify;[/newclass]

Gran chuckled a bit at Albedo, shaking her head, "Badass gear doesn't make the knight, dear. A skilled fighter with a rock could be an amateur with a sword, and you'd do best to remember that."
Gran recalled those exact words from her old mentor and smiled at the memory. She had questioned the statement, before her mentor had picked up a rock and asked if she wanted a demonstration. She'd said yes, and had her tiny metaphorical ass beaten. It was one of her fondest memories of losing a fight, really. That was the point where she had decided to get better with every weapon she could. From rocks to rocket launchers. Gran shot a look at Albedo and gave her a fond look.
"Well no, sweetie," Gran started along, "if the NPCs were to learn from their mistakes, then there would be no quests left for anyone to do. If Kayaba had programmed these little suckers to be that smart, none of us would stand a chance in the long run."
Gran pushed against the fence and pondered whether they should fight either of these monsters solo while they could just as easily take them on one at a time to be safe. On the one hand, they would get through this quest easily and without much risk at all, on the other hand . . .
"I'll get the one on the left. You get the one on the right." Gran laughed at the feeling of risk rising around her. She put one hand on the fence and vaulted over it in a smooth motion. Throwing caution to the wind was just one way to remind her she was alive. She pulled the giant mace from her back and spun it just a bit, letting it collide with the ground at her feet. She looked over at Albedo and nodded before dashing off, smile fading from her face. Now was a time to focus.
The boar turned on her almost as soon as it realised she was running at it. She almost wanted to wave at the thing as it began to charge at her. She resisted the urge. As they closed the distance, she readied herself. The boar's head went down and then up as it got close - a mechanic that allowed it to bust under the shields of players who weren't expecting it. She didn't have a shield, though, and only grinned maliciously, rolling off to the side as it barreled on. She skidded to a halt as she charged her skill, mace glowing and then launching in an arc of light, cracking mace head against swine rear end.
She wanted to give a joke about how the boar'd been a bad as she watched it get staggered, but decided against it. After all, Albedo should be busy with her own boar, so there was no one around to appreciate it. ALBEDO

Albedo was getting noticeably better with destroying the creatures of the land. The more stats she gained, the more refined her technique was starting to become, and the more her combat style changed. Where she might've charged and told what she was going to do with the starter gear, the increased gear enabled her avatar to have a bit more of an element of surprise. The increased DEX didn't help either. The more speed and agility Albedo gained, the happier she looked. It was a small change, but it did look like something resembling a pure enjoyment in the mobility she had. She followed up closely behind Gran, not necessarily charging as keeping a steady pace, and the Frenzy Boar was ready for her. She did a slide to the right as the beast charged her, and her sword glowed another eerie blue. She swung it down across the boar's belly, hearing the roaring squeal of pain as a large red gash arced through the torso. But the battle wasn't quite done yet. There was only so many things she could do in a second, but she was getting pretty good at dodging, and she had a bit of padding with some extra HP these days. The way she figured, she could make two mistakes. No more, no less. And she loved every moment of the anticipation. SWORD ART SLASH: 10 DMG. STR: 17 DEX: 10 -- ADVANTAGE! CURTANA: 27 DMG. "What's the matter?" she seemed to be talking to the boar, "Too afraid to hit a girl?"
She laughed as the boar turned, almost as if she'd actually insulted it. It huffed at her and she hefted her mace in both hands, ready for it to attack. The boar started moving forward, and she cracked the tip of it against one of the tusks. The boar squealed as she lifted the mace behind her head, letting it glow its terrifying light before bringing it down in an arc against the swine's head. She laughed as it exploded into those delicious scattered pixels. In a brief moment, she wondered if Kayaba could have programmed in bodies for the NPCs to have to take care of.
"One down," she said as she felt, more than saw, the tusk materialise in her inventory. She turned to watch the final parts of Albedo's fight with a smile, "Girl knows how to swing a sword, at least."
She averted her gaze to the other various boars throughout the field and started trying to decide which one to fight next. ALBEDO

Another Slash Sword Art followed up the first, and her boar disintegrated without a scratch on Albedo. She used her free hand to press the loot button on the screen, and then scanned the area. "I love having enough DEX to avoid these guys. I'm sure it's not going to work in my favor later, but for right now, it's really fun." She had a cheeky grin on her face as she took a step forward. With that one step, she managed to attract the ire of another boar, who started to charge towards her. The nice thing was, she was ready for it this time. She saw it make the approach and held her sword defensively, hopping from side to side as if in a warmup. From this distance away, if she wasn't able to see them in time to dodge, she would have to be the slowest slug ever. DEX: 10 -- ADVANTAGE!
FRENZY BOAR: 100 HP | 25 STR | 0 DEX DEX: 0 -- DISADVANTAGE! Admittedly, she was showing off a little bit as it approached. She had the red tassel of her sword dangling down as if she were taunting a bull, then she grinned as it fully made its charge. She dodged, yet again, with ease and swung her sword up to an offensive position. "Alright, found my next one. Don't draw too many on you, Granny!" She commented as she got ready to swing down another Sword Art. granxgran [newclass=.pricklebear]background-color:#fff;height:auto;width:450px;margin: 0 auto;box-shadow: 1px 1px 2px 1px #c0c0c0;border: 10px solid #f9f9f9;font-family:Calibri;font-size:12px;padding:24px;text-align:justify;[/newclass]

Gran shook her head and clicked her tongue. Albedo was having a little too much fun, really. Then again, Gran was also having too much fun. With a laugh, she went jogging off towards a pair of boars who looked like they were talking with each other.
"Don't draw too many, huh?" Gran chortled off, grinning as both the boars turned and squealed at her in anger. These quests were all to easy, in her opinion. She needed a little bit of a challenge every now and then.
The pig on the right charged first, making it's high pitched battle squeal heard to all. Gran tightened her grip on her mace and slammed the tip of into the charging boar's chin. It felt like she could do better than she had been. She laughed as it shattered from her first blow, and she turned her gaze to the other swine. She could see it through the rain of shattered pig particles, beginning its charge towards her. She let her fingers loosen ever so slightly on the mace's handle, beginning the sword art. As the deadly tusks came closer, her mace let loose in a horizontal line of damage. It rammed into the boar's side, causing it to squeal in pain and explode.
Gran's blood was pumping. She was more focused now than she had been in a long time. She felt alive.
