QUEST: Height of Glory TAGS: @name @name @name NOTES: All your notes in here, don't worry this entire box scrolls. Raiken walked through the wildlands she was bored, she had noticed a mountain in the center of the floor and wanted to climb it to see what was at the top, but didn't want to bother with it. She rather do a quest that could grant her stat points or give her some sort of weapon instead of what she currently had. Sure the rusty blade was good and all, but she needed something better. Something that would give her more than just a plus one damage output. With zero in strength, she could only do one damage aside from using sword arts.
She sighed as she noticed an NPC walking just standing at the side of the road. Approaching the NPC she realized that it was a Quest NPC. Raiken listened to the NPC's words, and realized that it was giving her a quest to climb the mountain in the center of the floor stating that there was something cool at the top. Smiling to herself, she accepted the quest and walked towards the mountain that was close by. She was heading to see if there were any monsters near the mountain that she could fight, when she had accepted the quest.
Standing at the base of the mountain, the young teenager stared at it. She might need some help to get to the top. Raiken sighed while she waited. The violet haired girl watched as she leaned against a large boulder. She wanted to get started on this quest, and see what was at the top and probably enjoy the view for a while before heading back down.

Eris was having a relatively bad day. Some idiot had tried to show her how to fight, but she already knew how. The only trouble she had was that her little rusty sword wasn't quite good enough for any real mobs yet. Instead of following the crowd and buying that simple starter sword, she decided she would rush and raise up her stats with these larger quests. She looked up at the mountain as she walked briskly towards it. Someone had told her there was an NPC that patrolled around the area between the mountain and Tolbana, giving out a quest to hike up the mountain. She would find him and get up this mountain quickly. She need to get a move on if she wanted to use the better weapons and get those sneaky skills she had been reading up on.
As she neared the base of the mountain, she saw a girl. Purple hair. How ostentatious. Eris decided to swallow back the idea of making fun of someone for their hair. It wouldn't do to go making enemies so early on in the game. She tried her best to put on a warm smile, but instead found herself smirking mischievously. She walked towards the girl and gave a little wave, "Are you taking on the quest to climb the mountain? It'd be best to travel with others, you know."
Eris' grin darkened a little bit and she wriggled her fingers at the girl, "There could be bandits on the path, after all~"
She realised how creepy of an introduction that was and leaned back a bit, sheepish smile growing on her face, "Sorry. I mean to say hello, I'm Eris! Would you like some company for climbing the mountain? Yeah, that sounds a bit better." raiken

QUEST?: Height of Glory TAGS: eris Horus NOTES: Just climbing to the top of a mountain. Raiken waited while leaning against the large boulder. It had been a couple hours since she had arrived at the tall mountain. Yawning into her hand, she spotted someone walking down the path. It was an older woman, blinking slightly Raiken considered the woman's words as she spoke them. "Sure, you can come along with me. I was waiting for someone to climb the mountain with me," she said without hesitation despite the woman's general creepiness about the bandit statement.
Why would Raiken be concerned about bandits? Didn't she have a weapon? Yes, yes she did. Despite it being a rusty beginner weapon, it could still do some damage. So ignoring the woman's creepy statement, the teenager started to walk up the slope towards the top of the mountain. "Let's go," she said with a monotone. It was if she didn't have any emotions, it wasn't true however.
Raiken just didn't show her emotions that often, however her temper could get away from her if someone were to start pressing her buttons or were being annoying. Anyways, it was a good idea not to press her buttons or be annoying towards her. She had no opinion on the older woman yet, but it seemed like Raiken might enjoy her company.

Eris internally sighed out of relief. The girl didn't really seem to care about her creepy little quip. That was good for Eris, if she was to get any further with this. She picked up her pace a bit as the kid started walking up the trail. Straight to the action. Eris appreciated that. If they had taken hours to exchange words and quips, it would take way too long to get anything done. She thought about that one other girl she'd met in the woods and how talkative they'd been. Her face contorted just slightly in disgust at remembering. She could use the company of other people who were far less polite and chatty.
"Oh yeah," Eris broke the silence that was just beginning to form, and opened up her menu, "It'd be a little pointless to start on the quest without being in a party. No benefits, or something like that."
She flicked out the party request to the girl. She thought about making a joke, but couldn't really think of a good one. It was either that, or she felt it wasn't a good atmosphere for joking. Either way, Eris didn't mind to remain in silence for the rest of the quest if the girl wanted to. She liked being able to take in the views. After another moment, Eris mentally started mapping their surroundings. Her eyes narrowed and she started taking in every little detail, memorising the layout as they traveled. She found it useful to have a map of everywhere she'd been. She could even pull up the memory of the forest from before, down to the branches on the trees. That way, if the pair needed to run, she could plot out the best path of escape. raiken

QUEST?: Height of Glory TAGS: eris Horus NOTES: Just climbing to the top of a mountain, Accepting the party request while continuing to climb the mountain, Raiken didn't say a word to the other person. Raiken didn't need social interaction to keep herself mentally healthy. She was a loner by nature, and the only reason why she interacted with people was for quests. If it weren't for the system forcing it, Raiken would solo quests and get all the reward for herself. But due to how the game was set up, it was impossible for her to solo quests or even solo fight monsters. Sighing, Raiken continued upwards on the slope until the first large hurdle. It was a cliff that was in front of them.
It went straight up into the air. "We're not climbing this. Let's look for another point of ascension instead of trying to climb this death trap," said Raiken. Raiken didn't know if there was such a thing as fall damage, but it was better safe than sorry. If there was no other choice, then they would climb the death trap or go back and get mountain climbing equipment from someone.
But she wasn't going to risk her life to climb a cliff just for some virtual money, and whatever else she was going to get from climbing the mountain. Raiken turned and started to walk while keeping the cliff to her left so she can make sure to make a note where she was. Suddenly stopping, Raiken made a formation with some rocks to mark where they begin with trying to locate a safer route. It would not do, if they kept going in circles trying to find a way up if there was none.

Eris found herself enjoying the silence, marking landmarks and nooks and crannies in her mind. Large tree. Boulder. Goat path off to the side. She followed the silent girl in a calm harmony. Their footsteps were almost in sync. Eris was almost entranced by the beat of it. Almost, but she was too focused on memorising the layout, incline and all. She stopped as the girl did and found herself curious. This steep cliff wasn't quite what she imagined the topography was going to do. She raised an eyebrow at the top of the cliff, wondering why such a thing was placed so dominatingly in their path. She huffed a bit and looked around.
She hadn't even heard the girl talking, completely engrossed with this dilemma they had been faced with. She mumbled a little loudly to herself, almost forgetting Raiken was there at all, "No way we can climb that. I watched a kid fall from a tree and die. I think there's a skill for stuff like this? Probably neither of us can do this yet. Hm."
Musing to herself, she examined the incline of the hill behind them, eyes scanning for any possibility. She was reminded of the goat trail from just a little bit back and she locked on to it, following it along visually like solving a maze drawn on paper. It lead over to the cliff and disappeared into it. she was willing to bet money that that was their target for getting past this. She nodded firmly and pointed at the disappearing path and walking towards it.
"There," Eris spoke curtly, "That's where we can continue."
As she walked closer to it, the narrow path became obvious. It was a little tedious-looking and steep, but no where near as impossible as the sheer cliff. This was most likely their best option.

Horus had taken a few moments to rest when he saw a familiar face approaching. He'd been working on trying to climb that deathtrap of a slope for over an hour when he gave up and tried to find an alternative path. He was exhausted, but seeing Raiken was certainly a surprise that perked him up a little.
"Raiken? Hey, it's me, Horus!" he grinned, waving. He stood from his rock, brushing the dirt and dust from his pants. Horus had met Raiken on a previous quest to kill a bunch of pigs, but hadn't seen her since. Not that it was a particularly long time ago, but still, small world!
Raiken was traveling with a stranger as well; an older lady with cold eyes, and she was glancing at the path and seeming to take almost no notice of Horus' presence.
"You're working on this quest too, right? I was just about to head up myself," he slightly lied. He probably looked like he'd been at it for a while, but tried to shake it off. Horus extended a handshake to the stranger. "I'm Horus. Raiken and I have worked together in the past."

QUEST?: Height of Glory TAGS: eris Horus NOTES: Personal Stats HP: 105/105 STR: 0 CON: 1 DEX: 0(+5) Weapon: 28 Damage After wandering around for a bit, Raiken heard the woman say she found a way up the mountain. It seemed like there was a goat path that would allow them to travel along. Nodding at her words, Raiken walked towards the path up the mountain when they came across a familiar face. Staring at the bronze skinned thin young man with the white hair, Raiken could not place her finger on where she had met him before. She had taken quests with a multitude of people. "Who are you again?" She asked, obviously having forgotten the young man.
She could barely remember sloppy fighting and against some of those god awful angry pigs. Shrugging to herself Raiken looked at the woman she was partied with and said, "might as well invite him to the party." Besides they could use a meat shield if something happened, and the man looked like he would be an adequate meatshield. Raiken was wearing her simple white cloak equipped and had her new viking sword equipped on her back.
If any fighting were to be done, it would have to be Raiken taking the lead due to her better equipment. As they walked she heard some noise like rocks moving. Getting hit by one she looked up and saw nothing. Weird, maybe there were monsters on the mountain. "Unsheathe your weapons and stay alert. Horus you will be in front, Eris you'll be behind him. I shall take the back in case of ambushes from behind," she ordered the both of them. She knew Eris' name from the health bars where the names and health points of their party members were.

Eris raised an eyebrow at the newcomer, eyes sharp, harsh, calculating. Was about to head up, he said? Eris' mouth curved up into a crooked smirk, "Liar. You've been stuck at the bottom of this cliff for at least ten minutes, judging from the dust on your pants."
She completely ignored his outstretched hand and turned her head to Raiken with a curious look, "Invite him to the party? He looks like a clown."
She pursed her lips together and shot the newcomer a look. Maybe Raiken wanted to use him as a mobile shield. As a rock hit Raiken on the head and she began talking about a formation, Eris' grin grew a bit. Looking back to the newcomer with a chuckle, she nodded and sent him the party invite with a nod. Raiken was all about putting him in front, Eris liked that.
"Fine, I guess, I like that tactic," she closed her menu after the invite was sent and began walking towards the goat path. It wound up the cliff for a few feet, then switched back sharply. to the untrained eye, it looked like a random rock formation. She smiled and waved her arms at the rocks, gesturing for Horus to go first. Horus raiken

Horus wasn't stupid; he knew exactly what this newcomer, maybe even Raiken wanted. They wanted him to take the first steps, be a shield. Well Horus may be stubborn, but he was also a bit proud, so he just smiled confidently and turned his back to them. "Sure, follow me," he quipped with a grin.
That being said, Horus wasn't too excited about this tiny path they'd found. It seemed the best way, probably the way that the quest intended, but that didn't make it less any less treacherous. It was narrow; they'd be walking single-file for most of the the trip, like a group of particularly adventurous elementary schoolers.
On his left was a slope that was too steep to climb, and on his right was a slope too steep to fall down. There was only a few inches on either side of his feet, so Horus made sure to stick a little closer to his left. A patch of dirt started sliding under his right foot, but he steadied himself easily. "Careful there," he noted aloud, and continued on.
As the group ascended, Horus could feel the air getting thinner. You had to admire the attention to detail in this game; though he supposed immersion was the whole point.

QUEST?: Height of Glory TAGS: eris Horus NOTES: Still climbing a mountain Raiken was a cautious person by nature, she had put the two of them in front of her not for a shield like the others would assume though it did cross her mind and she did make it seem like she did do it that way. Raiken didn't trust Eris due to her never seeing the woman fight before. She could barely recall Horus' fighting some of those angry pigs, she had done it like this so he could be a meat shield yes, but give him some more experience in fighting. The formation was so she could take care of everything that comes from behind while making sure she had a clear line of sight to the front to help out if the two in front of her needed it.
'If they want to survive this death game, they cannot rely on others to fight for them,' she thought while continuing onwards being careful not to fall off the extremely narrow edge. She may be heartless but she at the very least will give people the tools they need to survive this game if they ask for it. Raiken was a cold person but she wouldn't simply abandon someone in need. Raiken kept her eyes and ears open as they ascended the mountain.
Making sure to keep an eye behind her, she would attempt to grasp the back of Eris' shirt to make sure she doesn't take a fall due to her having to keep an eye behind them somewhat and her concentrating on making sure they weren't ambushed and helping out the front if need be. Let it look like she was scared, she didn't care. She would keep the three of them alive just in case of an ambush does happen. Soon enough, they would come across a rickety old bridge that led into a cave, which could've been a tunnel to a higher point on the mountain.

Eris frowned as Horus seemed to falter a bit in front of her. Surely he didn't think this was a difficult path to climb. She looked down at her own feet. The ledge had enough room for her to walk on easily. She frowned even deeper as a hand grabbed her shirt from behind. If someone had been looking at them from below, Eris was sure they'd think it was a group of scared little children holding on to each other for dear life. She felt her eye twitch a bit in irritation.
As they reached the top of the cliff, Eris thanked whatever god she could for flat land. She raised an eyebrow at the old looking bridge that spanned over a ravine on the opposite side of the little trail they had been climbing up. The game wouldn't program a bridge like this to break, would it? She scrunched her mouth to the side and walked forward a bit to pick up a small rock. She chucked it at the bridge and smiled as it made a soft thunk in the wood. It didn't seem like it was some kind of trap, but it certainly didn't look safe at all. Looking at the cave on the other side, Eris wondered if there was a better way to go about this.
"So," Eris decided for a quip, "Think there's any lights in that cave over there? Or are we going to have to deal with pitch black travel through it?" Horus raiken

"If we need to see, the quest will probably give us some way to," Horus half-shouted back with a shrug. The wind had picked up as they approached the bridge, watching it sway only slightly from the force of it. Horus tested the first board hesitantly, but it seemed sturdy enough to support his weight. The wind rushed again, and it swayed again. Horus tried to subdue the nervous chill that ran down his spine, mostly successful. Regardless, he stepped out onto it, clutching at the ropes on either side of him for support. The boards shifted around beneath his feet, so as he began crossing the bridge, he had to take it fairly slowly.
"We need to go one at a time; I don't know if the bridge can actually break, but I'm in no hurry to find out," he shouted back, only a few feet ahead now. "So wait for me to cross, okay Eris?"
He didn't wait for an answer before he continued crossing, slowly finding a rhythm and finding his footing more easily. A broken board halfway across nearly tripped him up, but he made a large step over it before anything could really come of it. The trip across was treacherous, and he never dared to look back to see if anyone followed before he had crossed, but Horus was happy to be on solid ground again. The gaping mouth to the cave stretched above him, and he wondered about its inhabitants, if it had any. Next they'd see about trying to go through, or maybe the game would make things easy for the party. He doubted that.

QUEST?: Height of Glory TAGS: eris Horus NOTES: All your notes in here, don't worry this entire box scrolls. Raiken stared at the cave in front of them before at the bridge and finally at Yami. She briefly wondered if poking Horus with her sword would turn her into one of those orange or red players she had heard about during one of her few rare ventures into one of the towns for quests and other things like that. Shaking her head, it was a bad idea to begin with. Looking over the edge she saw there was a gentle river flowing below them. It was deep enough that they wouldn't die if they fell, but she didn't know if there was a swimming skill that they would need.
Watching the other two do things with the bridge before Horus finally crossing, she stared at the ropes thinking about someone could very easily cut them while they were crossing. Raiken placed her back against the rocky wall as the other two crossed. She continued to watch behind the party while keeping her sword out in preparation for an attack. She briefly wondered what was in front of them in the cave.

Eris looked over the cliff the bridge was connected to and gulped. She hated heights. She could feel sweat beading up on her face as she looked down, so she turned around and sighed. She'd have to cross this bridge. She nodded at Horus and a grimace, "Yeah, good idea. Go ahead, then."
She watched as he crossed the bridge, almost afraid for him. The wind was kicking up, as if in response to someone crossing the bridge, and Eris jumped a bit as Horus came to a board that was broken. She sighed in relief as he just jumped over it with ease. But now, it was her turn. She frowned deeply as she stepped up to where the bridge began, refusing to look down towards the river below. She focused her eyes on Horus and bit her lip, placing both hands on the ropes that were on either side of the bridge like handrails. She closed her eyes and took a couple breaths, building up her courage.
She opened her eyes and began walking slowly across the bridge. She cursed the realisation that she'd have to look down to get across that broken board Horus had practically jumped over. She did not appreciate this adventure as much as she had at first. She paused for a moment, taking a shaky breath. She was about around the area where the board was now. She looked down just barely. Just enough to see the board. She pushed away the edges of her vision, doing her best to ignore the height as she carefully stepped across the broken board. there was a moment of hesitation as the other side of the gap was further than she thought it was, but she made it. With that out of the way, she rushed across the bridge to solid ground. Horus raiken
