I’m sure it will find its way to redeem and blossom ‘Cause I know, the black rose will find its home | Athena found herself in front of an NPC. She figured doing quests, as mundane as they were, would be a great way to earn experience and not die in this world. At first, she had been beyond scared but now that she's had some time to calm down and think things just seemed clearer to her. She wasn't going to let this game beat her. She was going to get out and accomplish her dream! "Okay so... creek. Where is it again?" she asked herself once she had accepted the quest. The Town of Beginnings was enormous finding one creek was going to be difficult let alone finding the locket. She pulled out her map hoping it'd help with some sort of landmark except... that the lack of time in this world and the sheer size was already confusing her. Why couldn't her brain comprehend normal things like this? "Ugh... why are maps so difficult?" she muttered. If she went around the entire town she'd eventually find it right? TAG: @open

[break][break] Sure, she could be blitzing the quests, but that would probably make more pressure on her then she wanted. So for now? She'd just have to take it slowly. The fable about the turtle and the hare was a good thing to apply here, if only because it was true in most cases. Her blonde hair fell in her face again, and annoyed, she pushed it back. Seriously needed her cap soon, this was getting blood ridiculous. Maybe she could find one of the crafters and get them to do it? But that was questions for another time, as she caught sight of a quest she knew. It was easy to head on over there, go through the dialogue and get the quest. [break][break] Couldn't do it without a party though. [break][break] She saw a girl, and was walking up to her, enough to hear the last part of her words. ''Because if maps ain't complicated, the roads ain't doing it right.'' she said, humour lacing her voice. Waving at the girl - hopefully she turned around on her commentary - Canary would throw her a smile. ''Yo, name's Canary. Doin' the locket quest I see? Can't do it without a party though. How 'bout I help ya out with that - and maybe give you a little tour too? I know my way 'round pretty well, so I'm sure we ain't gonna be lost.'' she said. She knows her accent colours her speech - it's one of those things she never wanted to give up really - but it's still understandable to most she finds. [break][break] But if anything, she hoped this girl took up her offer, because hey, why not help some newbie out whilst she's clearing a few quests here, right? Guess we can't have an easy map and rebellious roads now can we?" she added, returning the girl's smile. One of the fears that had taken over her mind was being alone in all this. This seemed like a thing that couldn't be done by yourself. "That'd be splendid! Thank you very much!" she exclaimed. Without hesitation, she pulled up her menu sending the invite to the girl. Getting to know the menu was one of the first things she had experimented with, it was her lifeline after all. "You have short hair! Excellent, and here I thought I was the only one!". So far just from wandering a small area with a large population she had noticed most girls (and some boys) had long hair. It had begun to make her feel a bit self-conscious but at least it wouldn't be getting in her way. "Oh umm.. Sorry got a little excited back there." she chuckled nervously, "I'm Athena, it's nice to meet you." she added. eviathan couldn't find this one goddamn creek that the NPC spoke of. Sure, he'd spent quite some time wandering around the town, exploring the tavernas for future reference, and checking out different spots, but for some reason, he'd not seen a creek whatsoever. This quest was proving difficult.[break][break] Plus, he needed a party. With no irl friends here, where would he find one? It was awkward to just...advertise himself, he assumed, but perhaps he'd have to do it.[break][break] Rafi's ears perked up as he heard the words "tour" and "quest". He turned his head to see two ladies chatting it up, one who appeared to know the place quite well, if he heard her conversation correctly. Perhaps this would be a good time to get a tour...[break][break] Walking up to them, he gave a friendly smile as he tried to politely interrupt their conversation. [break][break] Canary was used to people being dismissive and stubborn - but lately she'd found plenty of bright souls, people that are working past the reveal that this was a death game to keep going. It warms her, but at the same time she can't help but wonder if this is going to continue. This game, she feels, is a device to break the will of the weak. It certainly sounds like it - be on the frontlines, risking your life to get everyone out, or to get yourself out, stay in the beginning town and make a life there and hope that nobody kills you, support the frontline by crafting and moving up at a more sedate pace, or go mad from all of it and kill others - and she's sure she can stand up to it's test. [break][break] Others, not so much. [break][break] She grins at the girl's return quip, and easily accepts the invite - whilst subtly throwing a friend invite the girl's way in return. Although the enthusiasm about the hair made her blink for a moment, before she laughed. Not at the girl, but in amusement of course, because it was such a random, if not true, comment. But before she could answer the girl - whom introduced herself as Athena - they were interrupted by someone else. Not that the blonde minded, honestly, worse had happened in life to be mad over. Although she could see that this boy was trying, he was still not settled about it. [break][break] Was he one of the people trapped here on their lonesome, and not naturally people inclined? [break][break] ''Yeah, we are. Name's Canary, and you're gonna have to ask Boss Athena here if it's okay. I don't mind though, the more people I get to help the better.'' she said, throwing a smile at the girl's direction. Although, she brought up the menu, and gave the boy a friend invite too. ''Don't worry though, you both can call me to help at any time. I don't mind helpin' at all, so don't go off dyin' on me ya hear?'' she said, doing a small two finger salute, before laughing again. Yeah, she could work with this - if most of the newbies were like this, they could shape up and be able to go forward in no time. It meant being a tad less lonely in this world. It also meant that she could potentially do quests faster now that she didn’t have to wait for a second lonesome warrior to come along. Luna chuckled, boss lady? She liked that very much, maybe she should start a crew now that would be fun. Having people to follow her and to as she commanded but then again she doubted she could boss anyone around all the time while she did nothing. It wouldn’t be enjoyable and that wasn’t her. ”Two can be as bad as one.” she cheerfully said quoting a rather old English song, ”Uh… old song reference haha... she chuckled nervously, "but yes you can join us.” she quickly added just in case they had absolutely no idea what she was talking about. The brunette repeated the motions once more, sending a party invite to the boy. It wouldn’t be long until a third bar popped up under Canary. Taking initiative like Canary, the brunette also send him a friend invite. Building connections seemed like a smart move and he seemed like someone that would be fun to quest with as well. ”All right musketeers let’s get a move on!” Athena exclaimed she raised her arm pumping a fist into the air. She began leading the way before stopping suddenly after taking a few steps. ”Uh, which way was it?”. |

He found it a little funny, though - he thought that Canary was the guide...[break][break] However, Canary seemed to know her way around.
