aint crossed her arms as she stood in front of the large white labyrinth. The forest gave way to a small clearing around it. The woman glanced up at the tall white tower in silence. She had just gotten her armor crafted and that only meant one thing- it was time to fight. The woman gulped before taking in a deep breath. Everything was going to be fine. She had been geared up. All she needed was the party. Saint took the few quiet moments she had of peace alone to steady herself.

She reached up to begin typing out a party recruitment message. Hopefully it could be seen by those able bodied enough to go into the dungeon. If so, then it'd be a big step forward. Saint reached to press send and then turned to look up at the sky. It was a bright and sunny day.

It was hard to believe they had been trapped in this game for a little over a week. Saint placed her hands on her hips and took in a deep breath. Soon she'd be in a labyrinth and not just outside of it.[break][break]

Pax flicked through his menu and went through all of the items he had prepared. He had about ten health potions on him, as well as various other rations he figured would be useful. He rummaged through the options again and pulled up Saint's party recruitment message. It was pretty basic, honestly. He wondered if she would give a speech before they ventured in to the place. He laughed a bit, realising it was more than possible that she might.

As he neared the labyrinth, he looked up at the daunting visage that was the labyrinth tower. To most, this would be foreboding, ominous, terrifying. He smiled and clenched his fist. Looking at such a sight made him thirst for the challenges that lay within. Maybe Kayaba had made the mobs inside the labyrinth itself more difficult. If the developer had, he relished the thought. That first time he'd traveled through a labyrinth in the beta had been exhilarating.

Seeing Saint in the distance near the entrance, Pax waved fervently. His armor was a little more beaten up than the last time they'd seen each other, but he was certainly no worse for the wear. If anything, the shininess of the armor being gone made him look like a proper soldier, who had seen enough combat to make his skin tougher than his armor. His face lit up with the idea that he looked better than before, and as he neared Saint he took his helmet off to show off his grin.

"Sorry it took me a minute to get here," Pax rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile, "Got stopped by a couple players who looked like they needed help."

A party recruitment message to head up to the labyrinth huh? Sonic had expected something like this to come up eventually, and he was even less surprised that the first one he had found came from Saint. Always the go-getter trailblazer she was. She wouldn’t be who she was in the gaming world if she were anything else, after all.[break][break]

Figuring that now was a good time as any to try and head down the labyrinth, he decided to go and take it. After all, she was dependable with a good head on her shoulders and he was sure that she wasn’t going to do stupid things like drag unprepared newbies or scrubs down to the depths where they could easily be killed. And being killed at level one of all things was both tragic and humiliating, not a death he’d wished on anyone save Kaya-derp and his cronies.[break][break]

However, he’d promised one particular person that he’d bring her along if he went along with his plan of dungeon-diving despite his own misgivings about bringing real-life friends to life-threatening situations, so he sent her a PM to tell her where he was going to be before heading off to the meeting site.[break][break]

When he got there, he was surprised to see not only Saint but Paxilon as well in the same armor he had worn during their wolf-hunting quest. However… that was the extent of it. Where were the others? ”Yo, am I late to the party? And is there anyone else coming?”[break][break]

Admittedly, August had gotten a little lost. No, not lost. Distracted would have been a better word. She had received Sonic’s PM and had every intention of rushing after him to make sure she didn’t arrive too late, but the small cat in the alleyway was taunting her again. She spent more time than she would have liked to admit trying to coax the creature out of its trash can so that she could pet it.

Giving up and partially realizing how many minutes had passed, August decided the best bet would be to run as fast as she could to make up for lost time. Both NPCs and players alike were giving her weird looks as she semi-ran past them. August was wearing her newly fashioned armor and it admittedly made it hard for her to move very quickly, but it felt sturdy and that was its original purpose.

She made a lot of noise as she moved, slowing down only when she could spot Sonic and a few others up ahead of her. The closer she got, the more she thought she recognized one of the others. It wasn’t until she was within arm’s reach of Sonic that August’s smile widened and she blurted out, “Pax!” She was so proud of herself for remembering. He was the first player that had offered her any real type of help. They hadn’t found the logout cave they were looking for, but it was alright. “So we meet again. I’m glad I’ll be in good hands!” he had proven to be a reliable more than once. She was betting that it was going to be the same this time around as well.

Smile on her face, she turned to Sonic and fixed her posture so that she was standing up straight. “I made it!” Upon speaking though, she went straight back to dropping her shoulders and bouncing once on the balls of her feet. August was excited; it was hard to maintain her composure at a time like this. There were also nerves involved, but she would have gathered just labeled them as excitement; put a positive spin on it and all that jazz. Turning to the third one, the only stranger, she piped out a “hello” and a “I’m August. What’s your name?”
